I qualified as a registered general nurse in 1987 and then completed my Registered Sick Childrens Nurse course working in paediatrics until I moved to a staff nurse in a school nurse team post in 1995.
I worked in the team progressing to team lead until the opportunity came up to complete my SCPHN degree. I have been the 5-19 HCP Clinical Service Manager for the past 8 years. I was part of the PHE National School Nurse leader’s development programme.
I have worked in School Nursing for the main part of my career, and I continue to feel passionately that school nurses make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people they work with.
