Good practice guidance on supporting unaccompanied children who arrive in the UK and are at risk of going missing

The Children’s Society have launched ‘good practice guidance on supporting unaccompanied children who arrive in the UK and are at risk of going missing’.

Developed in partnership with Missing People, this guidance aims to equip professionals from local authorities, police, foster and residential care, education, third sector, and a range of other agencies with learning and good practice suggestions and to consider what support could be provided in their area.

The guidance was developed from interviews and focus groups with professionals across the country (we would like to give our thanks again to anyone who took part in that consultation) and explores good practice in preventing unaccompanied children from going missing; preparing for that risk; and in supporting the investigation if they do go missing.
