The NIHR Schools for Public Health Research, Primary Care Research and Social Care Research are pleased to host a webinar to explore engaging and working with young people.

Some communities are underserved when it comes to participating in research. The NIHR Schools for Public Health Research, Primary Care Research and Social Care Research are pleased to present the webinar series “Diversity and involvement: whom to involve?”.

The first webinar of this series will take place Monday 13th December 10.00am -11am. We will focus on young people, the challenges that may be involved and best practice when it comes to engaging and working with them.

In this webinar, we will hear about the experiences and challenges encountered by SPHR researchers when working with young people. We are delighted that community partners, Chilypep and the Association for Young People’s Health will also share their insights from the voluntary sector on working both with young people and participating in research.

Individuals attending this event will have the opportunity to:

  • Listen to case studies from researchers who have worked with young people
  • Gain insights in best practice when working with young people
  • Find out about the challenges that may be present
  • Hear from community partners on their advice for engaging with them and young people
  • There will also be an opportunity to ask questions

Other webinars in the series will be on involvement of people with cognitive impairment and involvement of people who are often unheard. These sessions will take place in January and February 2022.
