Revised Prevent Duty Guidance

Update to Prevent Duty guidance:

The required statutory instrument to update the Prevent Duty guidance was laid in Parliament on 7th Sept, 2023. The updated guidance will come into force on 31st December 2023, subject to Parliamentary approval. This three-month window between publication and the statutory instrument coming into force is intended to allow the health sector and other statutory partners sufficient time to take account of any changes to the duty which can be found here Prevent duty guidance: Guidance for specified authorities in England and Wales (publishing.service.gov.uk).

In the meantime, the National Safeguarding Steering Group will draft a briefing paper for providers, ICBs and the wider health system by 30^th October 2023.
