School Nurses have a background in nursing and/or midwifery prior to taking additional qualifications at degree and/or masters level in public health. Our work is targeted to improving the public’s health where you live; the service is universal and non-discriminatory. We work through direct one-to-one and/or group contact with children, families and communities in the home, school or community venues. We provide a unique and vital link between home and wherever the child is educated and/or trained.
We already have strong links and have worked with a number of corporate and third sector partners representing children, young people and families, and, as such, will ensure that our activities are always focused on the greatest need, such as child sexual exploitation, poverty, and the ever-growing impact of poor emotional health and wellbeing.
