Update on access to NHS Mail accounts for Independent school nurses

Update on the pilot to grow the number of users within the Independent School Nurse (ISN) community with access to an NHSmail account, conducted by NHSmail Centre of Excellence team, supported by SAPHNA

Dear colleagues,

You may remember that the NHSmail Centre of Excellence team ran a pilot to grow the number of users within the Independent School Nurse (ISN) community with access to an NHSmail account on the central tenant in 2022.  We are delighted to announce we are planning a full rollout to the ISN community.

Some of the benefits of having an account:

  • Optimises the ability to holistically promote positive health and wellbeing in children and young people, including enhancing the ability to protect and safeguard
  • Access to the global address book, giving you access to colleagues in other healthcare settings e.g. GPs and Emergency Departments
  • Access to the Microsoft 365 suite of tools which will increase your efficiency and productivity day to day, including access to Microsoft Teams, Viva Insights and wellbeing tools such as Breakthru
  • Opportunity to join other communities on the central tenant such as NHSmail Digital Heroes, and other communities relevant to your career

We are working closely with the Nursing and Midwifery Council to ensure a robust verification process is in place once we open up to the ISN community. As part of this we will be able to process requests of 100 applicants at a time, so once we rollout you may have to wait a while to be granted access to an account. To have the quickest access possible to your new account, please complete this form with your information and we will put you on our waiting list. We are expecting to launch rollout before the end of 2023.
