Workforce and Skill Mix Special Interest Group

SAPHNA are a launching a new special interest group (SIG) in response to members enquires and concerns raised about workforce, caseload, workloads and skill mix.

This will be a focused workstream which aims to scope what our workforce looks like, share examples of good practice and potentially support the production of guidance and voluntary standards to support school nursing services to respond to demand.

We will hold a series of SIG’s over the autumn/spring terms. These will be open to school nurses and members of the wider school nursing skill mix team (for example, staff nurses, nursing associates, community nursery nurses, support workers and administrators). We are looking for participants who will bring their experience, contribute to discussions, and share learning and good practice

We will focus on a different topic each meeting. For example:

Delivering the Healthy Child Programme – what elements are being delivered, how and who delivers these

Models of delivery – how are services set up and delivered

Skill mix – who does what.

Join thousands of public health nurses like you from across the globe.
