The handbook is targeted at all health care providers, who may encounter children and adolescents in their day-to-day work. It summarizes practical recommendations from existing WHO guidelines on:
Identifying signs and symptoms of maltreatment
Asking safely about maltreatment, without putting the child or adolescent at risk
Providing immediate support following the LIVES CC approach
Providing appropriate care in instances of sexual abuse.
