ELSA: Research study – screening children in schools for type 1 diabetes

School/community nurses are invited to take part in an interview around screening children in schools for type 1 diabetes

ABOUT THE STUDY

ELSA are opening a research study, which is screening children for type 1 diabetes The study is launching in the West Midlands this summer 2022. We will be recruiting and testing children in schools.

We are currently interviewing stakeholders, including school and community nurses to understand their thoughts and ideas around screening children for type 1 diabetes. We want to hear school nurses’ experiences of children with type 1 diabetes and if they think testing children in schools would be feasible. There are no right or wrong answers, we simply want to understand your perspectives and any concerns.
