Seeking views on widening access to a contraceptive medicine

THE MHRA REQUESTS YOUR PARTICIPATION

Dear Nurse or Sexual Health Specialist,

We would like to hear your views on helping patients access contraceptive tablets more easily.

We are looking for the following healthcare professionals to participate in a meeting to consider the practical aspects of making contraceptive tablets more widely available.

  • Nurses with a special interest in safeguarding currently working in a patient facing role and
  • Sexual health specialists

We are looking for nurses with a special interest in safeguarding who:

  • have at least 3 years’ experience working as a nurse with a special interest in safeguarding
  • are currently working as a nurse in a patient facing role
  • are willing to reflect professional experiences in the provision of oral contraceptive advice
  • are willing to contribute constructively to discussions with a diverse range of people
  • are willing to complete a confidentiality declaration form and a conflict-of-interest form if you are shortlisted for the meeting

We are looking for sexual health specialists who:

  • have at least 3 years’ experience working as a sexual health specialist
  • are currently working as a sexual health specialist
  • are willing to reflect professional experiences in the provision of oral contraceptive advice
  • are willing to contribute constructively to discussions with a diverse range of people
  • are willing to complete a confidentiality declaration form and a conflict-of-interest form if you are shortlisted for the meeting

The meeting is on Thursday 10 November at 10am. It will take place remotely on MS Teams and last for about 3 hours. There will be members of the public and other healthcare professionals attending. We can offer reimbursement for your attendance at the meeting.

We will be in touch to confirm if you have been shortlisted to participate or not at the latest by Friday 7 October 2022. If we invite you to attend, you will be asked to fill out a conflict of interest and confidentiality declaration form. Due to the impartial nature of advice sought, conflicts of interests may prevent your participation.

This meeting is being organised by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).  The MHRA is responsible for regulating all medicines and medical devices in the UK by ensuring they work and are acceptably safe. Underpinning all our work are robust and fact-based judgments to ensure that the benefits outweigh the risks.
